A landmark in Lille that continues to evolve
In the heart of Lille, the Palais Rameau is a place steeped in history. Opened in 1879 thanks to a bequest from Charles Rameau, a passionate horticulturist and city councilman, it was conceived as a space dedicated to horticulture, while also hosting cultural and artistic events open to everyone.
For over a century, the building thrived through exhibitions, fairs, and public gatherings. Designated a Historic Monument, it subsequently fell into disrepair before embarking on a new chapter in its history.
In 2021, the City of Lille and JUNIA signed a 25-year long-term lease enabling the renovation of the Palais Rameau. The project was carried out with respect for its architectural heritage while adapting the building to modern uses. The Palais Rameau has become a place where heritage, education, research, and experimentation converge.

The Palais Rameau now hosts some of JUNIA’s activities: educational spaces, classrooms, laboratories, and collaborative workspaces.
It also houses a demonstration facility dedicated to the agriculture and food systems of the future. This facility showcases the school’s work on major agricultural, food, and environmental issues.

Schedule a private tour of the Palais Rameau
Do you represent an institution, a company, an organization, or a group? Private tours can be arranged upon request to explore the history of the Palais Rameau, its renovation project, and its current activities. Tours are available for groups of 10 to 25 people and take place Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tours are subject to a fee and require advance reservations.
