JUNIA, an engineering school in Châteauroux specializing in apprenticeship programs, trains engineers in the HEI program in aeronautics and mechatronics-robotics, at the heart of a technology campus tailored to the needs of industry.
“The JUNIA campus in Châteauroux is entirely dedicated to training engineers through the HEI apprenticeship program. Here, each apprentice learns in a small, intimate setting that fosters interaction and growth. This close relationship with the faculty allows for attentive guidance throughout a demanding program. Class sizes promote an active, project-based learning approach centered on real-world scenarios. Our goal is clear: to train engineers who are ready for the workforce and capable of effectively meeting the expectations of businesses and addressing the challenges facing our society.”

A student life on a human scale
Student organizations shape daily life and help build connections while developing useful skills, complementing academic training and workplace experience. It’s an environment where everyone can get involved, express themselves, and find their balance.
- The Student Council organizes major campus events and brings together students from different classes.
- Sheik’it promotes sports through events and weekend activities.
- Moov’it organizes social gatherings that punctuate the year.
Finding a Place to Live Near Campus
There are several housing options available near campus: private rentals, shared apartments, CROUS dorms, or rooms in private homes. Local partnerships, particularly with Scalis, make it easier to find housing without agency fees and with potential financial assistance (APL, security deposit).
Students can also take advantage of programs such as Mobili-Jeune or LocaPass to make settling in easier and ensure a smooth transition.
Solutions Tailored to Everyday Life
Students have access to a university dining hall located 400 meters from campus. On campus, two cafeterias offer convenient dining options, with vending machines and areas equipped with microwaves.
Nearby, several shops and fast-food outlets round out the options. A simple and flexible setup, tailored to the rhythm of the work-study program.
A campus accessible by public transportation
Located near downtown, the campus is served by a network of free public transportation, with a bus stop right across the street. Bicycle racks are available on site, and three free parking lots make it easy to get there by car. A convenient setting, designed to simplify daily commutes.
Accessible, Local Support
Students are eligible for a free preventive health checkup during their first year. If needed, emergency medical services are available 7 days a week.
Counseling and psychological support services are also available throughout their academic journey. A range of services designed to support students’ health and well-being.
Projects for a Different Way of Learning
Each year, engineering students work in teams on a technical project that addresses a real-world problem. Under the guidance of faculty members, they must adhere to time, budget, and feasibility constraints similar to those encountered in the industry.
These projects draw on practical skills: research, design, prototyping, project management, teamwork, and taking initiative. The topics explore current issues related to robotics, artificial intelligence, Industry 4.0, and the energy transition.
