Embedded electronics

Embedded systems are essential in controlling a vast array of devices ranging in size and complexity from consumer products and home appliances to aircraft and electrical grids. JUNIA’s Embedded Electronics Systems program trains engineers who master the material aspects and software implications of high-tech systems that improve our everyday lives. This internationally-accredited program delivers a Master of Science and Engineering, allowing graduates to enter the workforce or pursue doctoral studies in institutions around the world.

Course

Embedded Systems (ES) manage precise tasks in complete autonomy and in real time, providing solutions in a variety of economic sectors : energy, health, transport, and more. ES covers a wide range of skills in the fields of energy consumption, integration, data processing, and communications. The job of an embedded systems engineer is to fully understand the unique constraints of these systems—limited space, autonomy, reduced calculations—and to know how best to operate within these constraints to achieve the system’s goal.

Project-based learning

Learning to work in a team and manage complex projects is an essential skill for any engineer. Therefore, one day every week is dedicated to group projects, supervised by a professor and a representative from the IT industry or a partner company. These projects allow students to apply their technical knowledge to real-world issues faced by our industry partners.

Internships

As with all programs at JUNIA, students will spend 40% of their studies in internships. These periods of professional immersion, carried out either in France or abroad, in a company or a laboratory, expose students to the reality of the professional world.

Careers

The widespread application of embedded systems creates an opportunity for IT engineers across industries. Some career prospects in embedded systems include embedded systems designer, communication electronics technician, systems integrator, tester, systems project leader, embedded applications architect and more.

Admission Prerequisites
  • Minimum Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field
  • B2 level in language of instruction (French or English) certified by an official test score (DELF, DALF, French Bac, TOEFL IBT 80, TOEIC 785, IELTS 6.0 or equivalent), except students from countries where the desired language of instruction is an official language.
  • French is NOT required for admission to English-taught programs, but is highly recommended
