Reinventing the îlot Colson

A new real estate complex will be built on a large area between Solférino street and Colson street. An ambitious and visible project, it will bring together teaching and research activities on the same site, without forgetting the central place given to the links between the school and the business world.

The project reflects the strategy of JUNIA, a leading engineering school for transitions, by proposing a layout that facilitates exchanges between students, researchers, but also with companies and society as a whole.

The project has a total floor area of 24,000 m², including the development of a patio, terrace and accessible roof.

All the work will be carried out in two stages: the first in 2023 with the delivery of the first two buildings, the second in 2026 with the completion of the large block.

A dedicated place and a showcase of our research

The Colson block is where most of the research activities currently scattered among the various schools are to be located. The layout of the spaces includes a desire to highlight and showcase expertise. The location of the activities is being considered in terms of thematic universes. The whole should occupy more than 2,000 square meters.

A hybrid place, multiple uses

Modular classrooms, spaces reserved for practical work, amphitheaters, coworking, meeting space and campus life…The Colson block will be designed to offer modular and multi-purpose spaces adapted to new ways of teaching and learning. New work spaces for students will offer diversified arrangements to vary work postures capable of accommodating students, teacher-researchers and doctoral students individually or in groups.

The living spaces such as the work café will allow teachers, researchers, students and visitors to cohabit. The living spaces will support associations for events, exhibitions and experiments.
